Our client are a preferred supplier for a significant number of high profile brands and retailers, manufacturing innovative, sustainable products made from accredited, sustainable recycled material that are 100% recyclable. They operate from a modern BRCGS Grade AA facility, running 24hours per day, 7days per week; 51weeks per year.

They are currently seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join their in-house tooling team. They supply high-quality thermoformed packaging to a broad range of sectors, including food, healthcare, and consumer goods.

The Toolmaker will be responsible for producing, modifying, and maintaining thermoforming tooling using both manual and CNC machining techniques. The role plays a key part in ensuring tools meet high standards for quality, precision, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture thermoforming tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures using manual and CNC machines.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and technical specifications.
  • Perform tooling modifications and repairs to support production efficiency and product quality.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to meet tooling deadlines.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to minimise production downtime.
  • Keep accurate records of tooling repairs and modifications.
  • Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and quality procedures.

Candidate Profile

  • Time-served Toolmaker or qualified to NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / equivalent.
  • Experience in a plastics or thermoforming environment is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in using manual machining equipment and CNC machinery.
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software is beneficial.
  • Strong precision engineering skills with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
