PRINTROOM ASSISTANT - SIGNAGE

Salary: Up to £35K Depending on Experience + 25 Days Holidays + Overtime + Pension

Our client is a signage company based in South Yorkshire, looking for a Print Room Assistant to join their team. Your role will be to assist the Printroom Manager with printing, plotting, setting artwork for print, purchase orders, unboxing vinyl / ink deliveries. The company has various printing equipment including: Epson S80600 digital printers, Summa D160 plotters. Corel Draw design software and Onyx Thrive RIP software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and operate wide-format printers, cutters, laminators, and other print equipment to produce high-quality signage, banners, decals and other printed materials.
  • Check incoming print jobs for accuracy, completeness and correct file formats before printing.
  • Ensure print files are correctly set up (bleeds, resolution, colour profiles) and make simple adjustments as needed.
  • Monitor print runs to ensure consistency in colour, registration and quality standards.
  • Perform regular maintenance, cleaning and basic calibration on print equipment to minimise downtime.
  • Assist with loading media (vinyl, paper, PVC, mesh, backlit film etc.) and consumables (inks, toners) into machinery.
  • Label, organise and track printed items for efficient workflow and job management.
  • Complete finishing tasks such as trimming, cutting, mounting, laminating and packaging printed materials.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised print room environment, following health & safety procedures.
  • Work with design and production teams to prioritise jobs, meet deadlines, and support urgent requests.
  • Record production data (job numbers, quantities, time spent) and report issues to the Print Room Manager / Supervisor.
  • Help manage stock of printing materials and notify team when supplies are low.
  • Support general production tasks as required, including basic assembly and quality checks.
