Starting salary £28.5K with a review at 3 months up to £31K (Training between 3-6 months) or £36K+ for an experienced Mould setter

12 Hour Continental Panama Style shifts - 6:00am to 6:00pm (Days) / 6:00pm to 6:00am (Nights)

Our client is a high-volume Plastics Manufacturer. They are currently looking to recruit a Machine Setter to be responsible for the efficient setup and operation of allocated production lines, ensuring high-quality output, maximised machine utilisation, and adherence to company standards. This role is critical in achieving production targets and maintaining operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have injection or blow mould setting experience, however other tool setting experience will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain assigned production lines efficiently.
  • Ensure high product quality, minimising defects and waste.
  • Achieve machine and materials utilisation targets.
  • Maintain accurate production records each shift.
  • Follow all company procedures, work instructions, and health & safety standards.
  • Care for tools, machinery, and equipment; report issues promptly.
  • Support team members and collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in covering shifts when required.
  • Undertake training to develop skills and adapt to new equipment.

Performance Focus

  • Machine Efficiency: Maximise run time, minimise offline time, and operate machinery at standard cycle speed or better.
  • Materials Management: Minimise product loss, optimise regrind usage, control additives, and maintain barrier/adhesive levels efficiently.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain consistent product quality, liaise with QC, and take ownership of defect resolution.
  • Reporting & Data: Complete accurate shift reports; analyse machine data to identify improvements.
