GRAPHIC DESIGNER / ARTWORKER / PRE-PRODUCTION ARTWORKER
NORTHANTS
Up to £35K DOE 20 days holiday + 8 bank holidays + 1 additional birthday bonus day + Statutory pension + Ongoing training and personal development + Immediate start available
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, standard hours 9:00am-5:30pm (flexible start / finish available e.g. 7:30am-4:00pm
We are delighted to be working with a high-profile, fast-moving large format production print company based in Northants, who are looking to recruit an experienced Graphic Designer / Artworker / Pre-Production Artworker to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and well-established large format print environment, offering genuine training and development opportunities for the right candidate.
This position will suit an experienced Designer / Artworker with strong technical knowledge of preparing artwork for large format production. You will be confident working on both PC and Mac using Adobe Creative Suite at an advanced level.
Working closely with Account Handlers and Production, you will play a key role in ensuring artwork is accurate, print-ready and delivered within tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Taking accurate briefs and instructions from Account Handlers
- Communicating with clients when required
- Preparing and breaking down artwork to meet production specifications
- Designing and laying out artwork for proofing and production
- Pre-flighting files through workflow software
- Using Adobe Creative Suite to an expert level
- Working within workflow systems (ESKO Odystar / Automation Engine experience advantageous - training provided)
- Briefing and communicating job specifications clearly to production teams
- General administrative duties related to artwork and production
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Strong experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Experience producing artwork for large format print (highly advantageous)
- Knowledge of pre-flight and workflow software (ESKO, Odystar, Automation Engine or similar - training provided if needed)
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills at all levels
- A positive, proactive and "can-do" attitude
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- 3D design skills (e.g. SketchUp or similar) - desirable but not essential
