SALARY UP TO £42K (Depending on Experience) + 20 Days Holiday plus Bank Holidays + Overtime + Workplace Pension + Sick Pay + 4x Salary Life Cover

HOURS: Monday to Thursday - 6am till 2pm / 2pm till 10pm / 10pm till 6am + Plus 5 hours per shift on a Friday

Our client is a well-established sustainable leader within the packaging and paper production industry. Offering high quality conventional corrugated packaging. They are currently recruiting for a Flexographic Printer to join their production team.
You will be responsible for operating a flexographic print machine ensuring that the print operations are carried out in a safe and controlled environment. You will be operating a 7 Col Masterflex Press.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting up and operating print machinery safely and efficiently, maintaining a clean and compliant work area
  • Monitoring and delivering production orders, ensuring print quality is consistently high
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards including BRC and ISO
  • Carrying out print inspections, troubleshoot issues, and resolve non-conformities with support from colleagues
  • Applying lean manufacturing principles such as 5S and SMED, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Accurately completing all paperwork, electronic data, and change request forms
  • Conducting thorough shift handovers, ensuring smooth transitions between shifts
  • Performing press changeovers and run speeds in line with KPIs, minimising waste during print runs

Requirements:

  • Strong commitment to quality with excellent attention to detail
  • Qualified Flexographic Printer; City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Print (or equivalent)
  • Additional certifications (e.g. fire safety, first aid) desirable but not essential
  • Solid literacy and numeracy skills; GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths preferred
  • Extensive experience in flexographic printing, particularly with solvent-based inks and wide web presses
  • Proven background within the manufacturing, printing, or packaging industry
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies advantageous
  • Experience supervising or guiding colleagues on the print press
  • Strong knowledge of quality, health, safety, and environmental standards within a production environment
