NUMBER 2 PRINTER
WEST YORKSHIRE
Salary: £31,923.50 + 26 Days Annual Leave + Pension + Other Rewards
NO WEEKENDS - 12hour Shifts 7am - 7pm / 7pm - 7am
SHIFT EXAMPLE:
Week 1 - Monday & Tuesday - Days / Wednesday Off / Thursday & Friday Nights
Week 2 - Monday & Tuesday - Off / Wednesday, Thursday & Friday Days
Week 3 - Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday - Nights / Thurs Friday - Off
My client is a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging providing an award winning service to their clients in the food & beverage, retail, commercial, homecare & personal care sectors.They are currently looking to recruit a Number 2 Printer to join their busy production team. The role is to print a quality image and / or text on to reels of film, ensuring that it meets customer design and specification.
The chosen candidate will have experience running F&K's, Allstien Bobst mostly printing up to 8col
Role:
- To set up the print press to the correct specification set out on the order sheet
- Match colours in conjunction with Ink Technician, using the supplied instructions for either new designs or repeat orders
- Set ink and plate pressures to "kiss touch" either by smartGPS or manual machine controls
- Remove and replace sleeves, change mandrills, Anilox rollers and doctor blades as required
- Understand and work to the standards in the Company Health & Safety Policy at all times comply with the Employees Duties and Responsibilities referenced in the Company Health & Safety Policy
- At all times wear the appropriate PPE, that is "fit for purpose" and to replace any PPE that is not
- Be aware of your responsibilities and to act within the guidelines of the Company Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Policy (COSHH)
- Maintain product safety and integrity and to ensure full conformity of product delivered on time and in full
- Workplace Safety: Ensure all employees understand and follow workplace safety protocols and procedures.
- Hazard Identification: Regularly identify and report potential hazards in the workplace to prevent accidents.
- Incident Reporting: reporting and documenting of accidents, injuries, and near-misses.
- Health and Hygiene: Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment to prevent illness and contamination.
Responsibilities:
- Run print machinery safely
- Ensure earthing clips are fixed to all required ink and solvent containers
- Ensure all open ink and solvent containers have lids fitted and ink pumps have lids closed to reduce fugitive emissions
- Understand and work to the standards in the Company Health & Safety Policy at all times comply with the Employees Duties and Responsibilities referenced in the Company Health & Safety Policy
- Comply with the Company Accident Reporting / First Aid Procedures and the Company Near Hit / Close Call Reporting Procedures understand the RM safety rules and adhere to them at all times
- Understand the principle of risk assessment and to always follow safe methods of work and the control measures applicable to specific jobs
