FIELD SALES MANAGER - FOOD INDUSTRY

TERRITORY COVERING SOUTH OF ENGLAND - EAST TO WEST UP TO NORTHAMPTON

IDEAL LOCATION: READING / OXFORDSHIRE AREA

SALARY: £35K - £45K (Depending on Experience) + Bonus + Company Car or Van (Branded)

Our client is a rapidly growing, multi-site supplier in the food industry, experiencing double-digit annual growth. The company operates across multiple market sectors, including meat netting, food seasonings, meat processing machinery, flexible plastics, casings, and online distribution.

They are looking to recruit a driven and ambitious sales person to join their team. As a Field Sales Manager, you will be responsible for working with customers on a consultative sales basis, identifying areas of improvement in their production processes and applying solution-based product range.

This role would benefit from someone who has experience in selling into the food industry (preferably meat). The chosen candidate does not necessarily need experience selling the companies products previously.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing all steps in the sales process, from developing the initial brief with the customer, negotiation, sale, production set up and demand planning.
  • Build strong, long-lasting relationships with customers through visits, creating JBP's, supporting customers in production environments and demonstrating products and meat manufacturing machinery.
  • Forecast growth and manage long terms sales pipelines
  • Identify new prospects and convert to active customers.
  • Maintain and develop the current customer portfolio.
  • Responsible for pricing and gross margin.
  • Updating and maintaining the CRM system is key to this role
  • Lead and/or facilitate trials in factory environments to propose ROI, yield improvements and overall product value

Requirements:

  • A talent for strategic critical thinking and problem solving.
  • A collaborative approach to customer relationships, being able to look for and identify win-win solutions.
  • A proven track record of sales growth, with a focus on value creation.
  • Excellent time management, organisational and literacy skill.
  • Experience in the sale of multiple products/product lines in a complex environment.
  • Ideally 3-5 years of experience in the food industry.

The role includes travel to customer sites therefore flexibility to meet business needs is required.
