Our client is a customer-focused and service-led label and labelling provider, manufacturing plain and printed labels, thermal transfer ribbons, and other labelling supplies.
They are now seeking an experienced External Sales / Business Development Manager to drive new business growth while developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers. This is a field-based role with responsibility for identifying new opportunities, managing key accounts, and supporting the company's continued expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify, target, and develop new business opportunities within relevant markets.
- Manage and grow an existing portfolio of customers, building long-term relationships.
- Prepare and present customer quotations and negotiate commercial terms.
- Attend customer meetings to understand requirements and offer tailored solutions.
- Maintain accurate sales records, forecasts, and CRM data.
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure smooth processing of orders and customer satisfaction.
- Support customer engagement strategies and contribute to sales growth plans.
- Resolve customer issues and queries in a professional and timely manner.
- Represent the business at client sites and industry events where required.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience in an External Sales or Business Development role (B2B experience preferred) within the plain or printed label / labelling solutions sector .
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, driven, and target oriented.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a small team environment.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and customer management.
- Strong customer focus with a "can-do" attitude.
- Competent with Word, Excel, and CRM systems (Sage knowledge desirable).
- Full UK driving licence required.
