Our client is a national signage, retail and hospitality fit-out business delivering full-service solutions, from signage design and manufacturing to installation and interior fit-outs for retail, hospitality, and branded environments.

They are seeking an experienced Estimator / Buyer to join their team. This dual-role position involves preparing accurate cost estimates and managing procurement activities to ensure competitive pricing, reliable supply, and profitable project delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, designers, and installation teams, utilising Clarity MIS to manage estimates, purchasing data, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for signage, retail, and hospitality fit-out projects using Clarity MIS.
• Analyse drawings, specifications, and project briefs to determine materials, labour, and subcontract requirements.
• Liaise with clients, designers, and project managers to clarify project scope and provide cost guidance.
• Contribute to tender submissions, value engineering exercises, and pre-contract negotiations.
• Monitor project budgets and track estimated vs actual costs to support financial accuracy.
• Buying / Procurement
• Source, obtain, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring competitive pricing, quality, and timely delivery.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Raise purchase orders, manage procurement schedules, and ensure materials arrive on time for production and installation.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of material costs, supply chain trends, lead times, and alternative sourcing options.
• Support installation and project teams by ensuring materials and services align with practical and technical requirements.

Person Specification / Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience as an Estimator, Buyer, or combined Estimator/Buyer within signage, retail, hospitality, or similar fit-out environments.
• Proficiency with Clarity MIS or other estimating/procurement software.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple live projects and priorities.
• Understanding of practical installation considerations and health & safety is advantageous.
