ELECTRICAL BIAS ENGINEER

£OPEN (Depending On Experience) + Fleet Vehicle + £75 call out rate + Retainer for being on call
HOURS OF WORK: MONDAY - FRIDAY 8am - 5pm
My client is a leading manufacturer of high-quality polythene film products providing their clients with a range of shrink & none shrink, polythene film, sheeting, dolav liners, furniture, pallet wrap and mattress covers. With decades of experience, they pride themselves on innovative approach, commitment to sustainability, and customer-centric service. Their team is dedicated to delivering bespoke solutions that meet the evolving needs of clients across various industries.
They are seeking a skilled Electrical Bias Engineer to support their busy manufacturing operation, working across a range of extrusion and conversion machinery. This is a hands-on role ideal for an experienced individual from the polythene, flexible packaging, or wider manufacturing sector with a strong electrical background and a proactive, solutions-driven attitude.
Role / Responsibilities:
- Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on all electrical and mechanical systems and machinery
- Troubleshoot faults, diagnose electrical issues, and implement effective repairs to reduce downtime
- Work closely with production teams to ensure continuous operation of machinery
- Assist in the installation, commissioning, and improvement of new and existing equipment
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of PLCs, drives, control systems, and fault finding
- Good mechanical awareness to support multi-skilled responsibilities
- Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on, can-do approach
- Willingness to take part in on-call support as required (spilt between 3 Engineers)
