Our client is a well-invested manufacturer of high-quality food and medical packaging with full BRC/IoP Global Standard accreditation. With state-of-the-art manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution facilities, they deliver tailored, high-performance plastic packaging solutions to leading brands across the UK.
They are now seeking an experienced, high-performing Business Development Manager to drive new business growth initially focusing on new customers but then accounts will also be allocated by geography and also known contacts/ prior relationships. This role will be perfect for someone with proven packaging sales experience and strong market contacts.
Their ideal candidate will have a track record of sales in thermoformed or aluminium trays or other rigid plastic packaging; lidding films, or related technical films-serving diverse sectors such as bakery, confectionery, convenience foods, meat & seafood, fresh produce, medical, and consumer goods.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Actively securing new business, then managing and developing a portfolio of accounts.
- Selling into the food, medical, or consumer goods markets with a focus on thermoformed packaging, plastic packaging, lidding films, or other technical films.
- Identifying strategic opportunities, creating tailored solutions, and negotiating terms.
- Working closely with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
- Promoting the company's manufacturing capabilities, technical expertise, and service offering.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven track record in packaging sales-ideally thermoformed, rigid plastic, lidding films, or related technical films.
- Existing customer relationships and the confidence to convert contacts into sales.
- Strong account management and business development skills.
- Commercially minded, technically curious, and comfortable with solution selling.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills.
- IT literate (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint; SAP is an advantage).
