My client is a well-established printing company with over 78 years of experience in the industry. Specialising in B2, B3, digital Print and Large Format offering high-quality printing solutions tailored to clients' needs. With an extensive customer database and a reputation for excellence, they are now looking for a results-driven Business Development Manager to drive new business growth and build long-term client relationships.
Role Overview
They are seeking a self-motivated and proactive Business Development Manager to generate new business opportunities. This role will involve leveraging your own contacts as well as utilising the companies extensive customer database to expand client base. You will work remotely or visit clients, managing the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in print sales and be able to develop a sustainable and profitable client base that aligns with the capabilities of our in-house production.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new business opportunities through personal networks and existing customer databases.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, ensuring repeat business.
- Understand the company's B2, B3, digital, and wide format printing capabilities and align sales efforts accordingly.
- Produce accurate cost estimates for clients (with MD approval during the initial period).
- Work independently from home or on client visits to generate and close sales.
- Develop a consistent pipeline of work that can be effectively produced in-house.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and market developments to identify new opportunities.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure smooth job processing and customer satisfaction.
Key Skills & Experience Required
- Proven sales and business development experience within the print industry.
- Strong understanding of commercial printing processes and the ability to sell print solutions effectively.
- Ability to generate leads and build a pipeline of consistent, profitable work.
- Experience in producing estimates for print jobs (or a willingness to learn).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated with a hunter mentality and the ability to work independently.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
