B2 SHEET-FED PRESS OPERATOR (KOMORI)

WEST YORKSHIRE

Up to £31K per annum, depending on experience, workplace pension scheme, relaxed working environment, full training & support

Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 am - 2:00 pm

Our client is a leading commercial print business, operating a high-quality sheet-fed offset printing environment. They are seeking a skilled Press Operator to operate a Komori sheet-fed machine.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate the Komori press to deliver production runs to job specifications (colour, registration, substrate, quantity).
• Perform make-ready tasks: hanging plates, setting packing, adjusting feeder / tension, inking, blankets / rollers, etc.
• Monitor the run for quality, waste, productivity, make necessary adjustments to maintain standards and minimise downtime.
• Carry out routine maintenance, cleaning and checks on the press; escalate mechanical issues when required.
• Collaborate with pre-press and finishing teams to ensure smooth workflow and hand-offs.
• Maintain accurate production records, job tickets, waste logs and quality documentation.
• Ensure workplace, pressroom & equipment areas are kept clean and safe, following Health & Safety and company procedures.

Candidate Profile / Essential Experience

• Significant hands-on experience operating sheet-fed offset presses in a commercial print environment. Experience on a Komori press is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of lithographic processes: job tickets, substrates, inks, registration, colour control, feeders / finishers.
• Able to set up and run jobs with minimal supervision, maintain consistent quality and take ownership of output.
• Comfortable standing for long periods, working with automated press equipment, making adjustments.
• Good communication skills, team-player mindset, and a focus on delivering excellent output in a relaxed but professional working environment.
