AREA SALES / BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

WEST MIDLANDS

Salary £55K + Commission + Pension + Car / Allowance + Life Assurance + Healthcare

Our client is a well-established, profitable, and growing manufacturer, combining the stability and values of a family-run business with the backing and opportunities of an international group. Operating from their UK-based label manufacturing facilities, they design and produce industrial and retail processing, weighing, and labelling solutions, supplying customers from small craft producers through to major food and manufacturing groups.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an ambitious Area Sales / Business Development Manager to develop and expand their customer base across the West Midlands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities across the West Midlands in line with sales targets and growth plans.
  • Build and develop strong customer relationships by understanding operational needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle, from initial prospecting through to negotiation and contract close.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams including marketing, product, and customer support to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Track market activity, competitor movements, and customer insights to support commercial strategy.
  • Deliver professional sales presentations, quotations, and proposals to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Act as a Brand Ambassador at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting and reporting using the company CRM system.

Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrable success in field sales or business development, ideally within food, retail, manufacturing, or technical equipment sectors.
  • Previous exposure to weighing, processing, labelling, slicing, or similar equipment would be advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of the West Midlands commercial landscape.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a consultative sales approach.
  • Highly self-motivated, organised, and comfortable managing a regional territory autonomously.
  • Confident using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel throughout the region.

The company offers flexible working to support work-life balance, in a collaborative, supportive culture with a focus on innovation and growth.
