ANY UK LOCATION

£Attractive Basic Salary (based on experience) + Company Car + Employee Incentive Bonus of 3.5% each year + Company Pension Scheme + 25 days Holidays (plus bank holidays)

SHIFT PATTERN: Monday to Friday - 39 hours

Our client is a major international manufacturer of packaging to the Food & Drink industry. Offering value-added, infinitely sustainable packaging solutions for the world's leading brands.

There is a requirement for an additional Customer Technical Service Engineer in a field based role to proactively manage a portfolio of clients as a first point of contact for any concerns, flaws or faults. Reporting into the UK Customer Technical Service Manager this role will primarily be based at customer locations within the UK and Ireland. The company will allocate accounts according to your geography, however you will be required to attend other clients for holiday cover etc.

The Role:

This position ensures that company products and services meet the individual customer requirements when filling product into the packaging. A proactive rather than reactive approach ensures uninterrupted and efficient filling process, continuous improvement of filling line performance, creates opportunities for added value services and increases customer loyalty. It provides external support to the complaint handling process and to product qualification requirements.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Regular visits to customer sites working to agreed service levels and generating visit reports.
  • Providing advice and technical support to enhance and optimise filling facilities.
  • Managing the technical activities on a local basis by means of regular technical re-views.
  • To be the first point of contact for customer enquiries.
  • Support internal and external teams, company plants and customers in investigation and resolution of quality concerns.
  • Support the companies UK plants in qualification of new product sizes, light-weighting initiatives and material introductions.
  • Using problem solving skills and techniques to support customers in resolution of line issues.
  • Provide training to customers on a local level.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Quality and / or Engineering qualifications.
  • Worked within engineering / packaging manufacturing environment particularly within the plastics or other rigid materials sectors.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • The ability to build and maintain good relationships with customers and colleagues.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • The ability to plan and prioritise independently.
  • The ability to communicate and interact engagingly with client employees at all levels.
  • Self-Motivation.
  • A clean Driver's License.
