Our Client is seeking a Technical Sales Specialist to be responsible for driving technically informed, value-added sales solutions across the UK customer base. This role bridges commercial expertise with deep product and manufacturing knowledge, ensuring our client meets increasing market demand for technically competent sales support.
The position plays a critical role in supporting customers with packaging design, material choice, sustainability considerations, manufacturing constraints, and cost-optimisation opportunities. The Technical Sales Specialist works closely with Technical, NPD, Quality, and Operations to develop commercially and operationally sound solutions that meet customer needs and align with the Companies' strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
🔧 Technical & Product Expertise
- Develop strong knowledge of materials, tooling, production processes, and sustainability
- Translate technical detail into clear customer solutions
- Support feasibility, tooling, and product development with internal teams
- Advise on specifications, compliance, and environmental performance
🤝 Customer & Market Engagement
- Act as the main technical contact from enquiry to launch
- Identify profitable opportunities aligned with business capabilities
- Recommend optimised packaging solutions to improve performance and reduce impact
- Deliver technical presentations, site visits, and trials
💼 Sales & Commercial Activity
- Build and manage a pipeline of technical opportunities
- Support negotiations with accurate technical and cost input
- Prepare proposals including specs, costings, and sustainability data
- Grow existing accounts through new technical opportunities
🔗 Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain to deliver projects
- Ensure clear, timely communication across teams
- Contribute to account strategies and category planning
🌱 Sustainability Focus
- Promote circular economy principles and sustainability initiatives
- Ensure compliance with environmental standards
- Identify opportunities for material reduction and design optimisation
