TEAM LEADER - GLUING & CARTON FOLDING DEPARTMENT

SALARY £33K + Attractive Overtime Rates + 26 Days Holiday plus Bank Holidays
4 DAY WORKING WEEK - MONDAY TO THURSDAY (6AM TILL 3:30PM)
Our client is a privately owned folding carton manufacturer based in the South Wales, supplying to a range of markets including confectionary and pharmaceutical. They cover all carton styles including crash lock, snap lock, 4 Corner, 6 Corner, counter displays and shelf ready packaging (to name a few). They manufacture cartons for some of the UK's largest brands in solid board, foil, corrugated and plastic substrates and have been established for over 75 years.
They are currently looking for a hands-on experienced Team Leader for their Carton Folding & Gluing Department. You will be responsible for ensuring production excellence, smooth workflow and a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate and develop a skilled team to consistently meet quality and performance objectives
- Manage the daily setup, operation, and maintenance of folding-gluing machinery in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and specific customer requirements
- Provide hands-on operational support during periods of absence, confidently operating machinery as needed
- Work collaboratively with Planning, Quality Control, and Maintenance teams to maximise efficiency and reduce downtime
- Maintain exceptional standards of safety, hygiene, and housekeeping throughout the department
- Complete all production records accurately and contribute to ongoing process and performance improvements
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in operating and setting folding-gluing machines such as Signature, Vega, Bobst or equivalent models
- Strong background in team leadership or supervision within a packaging or manufacturing environment
- Exceptional communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
- Proactive and positive approach with a keen eye for detail
- Dedicated to teamwork, workplace safety, and driving continuous improvement
