OFFICE BASED ROLE - EVERY OTHER FRIDAY AVAILABILITY TO WORK FROM HOME

HOURS - Monday to Friday - 8.30am till 4.30pm (Flexible half an hour either side)

Our client is a specialist in the manufacture of high quality conventional corrugated packaging for FMCG markets, particularly blue chip clients in Beverage, Food and Confectionary.

They are currently looking for an experienced Designer to join their Design Department. You will be working within the design team alongside their sales department in order to design products for their customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create innovative corrugated packaging structures and point-of-purchase (POP) displays using CAD software (commonly ArtiosCAD) and sometimes 3D modelling tools
  • Develop prototypes, conduct material analysis, and perform structural integrity tests to ensure designs meet performance and cost requirements.
  • Prepare detailed specifications, dielines, and setup instructions for production and retail environments
  • Evaluate existing packaging for improvements in style, function, cost, and ease of assembly
  • Develop innovative packaging concepts that meet customer briefs, leveraging the full capabilities of the company design network
  • Monitor and interpret design trends across multiple market sectors to proactively identify opportunities and deliver creative solutions for customers
  • Stay up to date with the latest design tools and technologies to offer customers sustainable and competitive advantages through their proposals
  • Actively participate in training programmes to support continuous professional development and marketing awareness
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of market trends, design innovations, and emerging marketing techniques to enhance product value and shelf impact
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and design standards
  • Understand customer needs and technical requirements to deliver the most suitable design and technical solutions
  • Attend customer meetings as required to support design discussions and project development
  • Contribute to customer projects focused on cost savings, complexity reduction, and harmonisation, ensuring alignment with defined project briefs
  • Ensure adherence to company and local policies & procedure

Requirements:

  • Expertise in ArtiosCAD and familiarity with Kongsberg cutting tables
  • Previous knowledge and understanding of structural design principles, materials, and production methods in corrugated packaging
  • Ability to present concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
  • High attention to detail with proven problem-solving ability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Knowledge of problem-solving methodologies and techniques
  • Understanding of process measurement and calibration principles
  • Demonstrates self-control and professionalism under pressure
  • Shows creativity, innovation, and initiative in approach to work
