Our client is a well-established and highly respected printing company based in West Yorkshire, specialising in litho, digital print and business forms. They are looking to recruit a Site Engineer to join their team.

This is a predominantly mechanical engineering role, responsible for maintaining and supporting a wide range of print production and finishing equipment, whilst also carrying out general maintenance across the site and its facilities. Basic electrical fault-finding experience would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across print production and finishing machinery.
  • Diagnose and repair predominantly mechanical faults.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, minimising downtime and ensuring production targets are met.
  • Assist with the installation, relocation and commissioning of machinery and equipment.
  • Support the maintenance of the company's facilities, including compressed air systems, pipework, water services and general factory infrastructure (excluding specialist servicing).
  • Carry out routine inspections of plant, machinery and site facilities to identify potential issues before they become critical.
  • Liaise closely with production teams to prioritise repairs and minimise disruption.
  • Maintain maintenance records, service logs and parts inventory.
  • Order replacement parts and consumables when required.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company Health & Safety procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and factory efficiency.

  • Previous experience as a Site Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or similar engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical engineering experience is essential.
  • Basic electrical engineering and fault-finding skills would be advantageous.
  • Experience maintaining production machinery, manufacturing equipment or industrial plant.
  • Knowledge of print production or finishing equipment would be highly desirable, but is not essential.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and engineering drawings.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.
