The Senior National Account Manager is responsible for driving profitable national sales growth through the development of new business, the expansion of existing customer relationships, and the execution of aligned sales and marketing strategies. The role contributes directly to revenue growth, market expansion, and long term commercial sustainability through effective pipeline management, contract negotiation, and cross functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver sustainable national sales growth through acquisition of new customers and expansion of existing accounts
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, generating qualified leads and converting opportunities into profitable contracts
- Negotiate commercial agreements and contracts in line with company margins and strategic objectives
- Establish, monitor, and deliver against agreed sales targets and KPIs
- Identify new market opportunities, channels, and product applications to support long‑term growth
- Lead and influence sales activity through coaching, guidance, and support to sales colleagues
- Analyse sales performance data and reporting to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities
- Collaborate with Finance, Planning, Production, and Senior Leadership to align sales activity with operational capability and business goals
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including sales processes, systems, and new product development (NPD) input
- Represent the company at customer meetings, networking events, and industry forums to strengthen brand presence and relationships
- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, BRC standards, and company policies at all times
Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a senior sales or business development role, managing national customer portfolios
- Previous experience in the foil industry, with knowledge of foil manufacturing processes, applications, and market dynamics within the packaging sector
- Strong commercial acumen with demonstrable success in sales growth and contract negotiation
- Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship‑building skills
- Strong analytical ability with experience interpreting sales data and performance reports
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to tight deadlines
- Leadership capability with experience coaching or guiding colleagues
- Confidence operating cross‑functionally in a manufacturing or commercial environment
- Proficient in digital tools, CRM systems, and reporting platforms
- Prior exposure to BRC, quality, or compliance‑driven organisations
- Experience contributing to NPD or strategic growth initiatives
