Our client is a global leader in connected packaging and traceability technology, delivering smart solutions to help businesses improve efficiency, visibility, and compliance across the retail, supply chain, and logistics sectors. Their offering includes thermal and RFID printing systems, tracking software, label media, and handheld scanning devices, enabling end-to-end asset and product management.
Due to continued expansion, they are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive new client acquisition within the UK retail landscape, targeting both store-level operations and the wider logistics and distribution ecosystem and to manage existing accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Determine a sales strategy for the accounts allocated to yourself as detailed in the annual budget.
- Determine a proactive Business plan to build a robust prospect list in the area of new business development that will deliver the new business expectations.
- Understand the corporate strategy for Retail for products and services.
- Build knowledge and understanding of competitors offering and sharing the information within the sales team.
- Maintain an up-to-date prospect list, sales funnel (Sales Force), business plan, account development plans, sales forecast and performance.
- Provide business activity reports on a regular basis or when required relating prospects, quotations, performance and forecasts.
- Ensure that all quotations are supplied in a timely manner to the specified company standard.
- Complete all orders, ensuring they are accurate and contain all the relevant information.
- Manage enquiries ensuring that all the relevant information is recorded and passed onto the appropriate teams.
- Actively manage any unresolved debts and complaint issues meeting the specified targets.
- Identify and evaluate potential business partners within the Retail sector with the objective of selling company solutions
Who The Company is Looking For:
- Business operation knowledge.
- Good Level of Project Management.
- Product knowledge; Printer, Consumables, Service, Software products, Barcoding, RFID, and AIDC.
- High level experience in account management.
- A solid understanding of Retail processes to help identify where company solutions can make an impact and be sold.
- Customer focused with excellent negotiation skills.
- Team player that is flexible, resilient and tenacious.
- Strong communications (verbal and written) skills and experience working directly with end customers in sales situations.
- Accurate forecasting capabilities throughout the sales cycle.
- Sales Force / LinkedIn and IT literacy.
