PURCHASING ASSISTANT (SIGNAGE)

HAMPSHIRE

£27,500 (Starting Salary) + Progression Opportunities + 23 Days Holiday + 8 Bank Holiday + Free on-site parking

Hours: 9am - 5.30pm, Monday - Friday (with 1-hour lunch break)

Our client is a signage company based in Hampshire, they are currently looking for a Purchasing Assistant to work in their Procurement / Operations department. You will support the purchasing function by sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely procurement of goods and services required for signage production and installation. The successful candidates' key responsibilities will include:

Procurement Support:

  • Assist in sourcing and purchasing signage materials including vinyl, substrates, fixings, lighting components, and installation tools.
  • Raise and process purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with production to ensure material availability.

Supplier Coordination:

  • Liaise with suppliers to confirm pricing, availability and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain and update supplier records and price lists.
  • Assist in evaluating supplier performance and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Inventory & Logistics:

  • Track deliveries and follow up on late or missing orders.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to ensure smooth material flow.
  • Support inventory audits and stock reconciliations.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate purchasing documentation and records.
  • Assist in preparing reports on purchasing activity and spend analysis.
  • Support invoice matching and resolving discrepancies with accounts.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a purchasing or administrative role, ideally within manufacturing or signage.
  • Familiarity with signage materials and production processes is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and purchasing software.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
