Our client is a leading UK manufacturer of corrugated cardboard packaging, serving a wide range of markets throughout the UK with sustainable, high-quality products. They offer bespoke packaging solutions, including e-commerce and retail-ready packaging.

They are currently looking to recruit a Production Planning and Continuous Improvement Coordinator to support their manufacturing operations. This role ensures the smooth scheduling of production activities while driving efficiency and improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain an accurate production plan, ensuring all jobs are scheduled efficiently and delivered on time
  • Monitor plan adherence throughout the day and proactively identify potential delays
  • Communicate risks of late orders to Customer Services and discuss mitigation options with the Production Team Leader
  • Brief the Production Team Leader on daily and weekly job expectations
  • Ensure all required materials, tooling, and resources are available ahead of production
  • Liaise with Transport to confirm readiness for dispatch
  • Work closely with Production, Design, Transport, and Customer Services to maintain strong cross-department communication
  • Support the Production Team Leader with planning-related queries and operational updates
  • Lead and support site-level Continuous Improvement projects, focusing on efficiency and workflow optimisation
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and present solutions to management
  • Assist with maintaining BRCGS and ISO compliance across relevant departments
  • Support internal audits, GMPs, documentation upkeep, and corrective/preventive action processes
  • Ensure planning processes align with quality assurance requirements

Requirements:

  • Experience in manufacturing, ideally within corrugated packaging or a similar fast-paced production environment
  • Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently across departments
  • Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Lean principles) is desirable
  • Understanding of BRCGS and/or ISO standards is advantageous
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
