PRINT PRODUCTION OPERATOR - LARGE FORMAT / SIGNAGE

GREATER MANCHESTER

Salary: around £15 per hour, depending on experience, overtime at Time ½

Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm / Friday 8:00am-4:00pm

We are currently recruiting on behalf of an established and growing signage, graphics and large-format production business for a Print Production Operator to join its busy in-house print department.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced print professional who enjoys working across the production process and wants a varied role incorporating digital print, finishing, cutting and pre-press. The successful candidate will become an important part of a skilled production team, working on a wide range of commercial graphics, signage, POS and branded environment projects.

Working within the print department, you will be responsible for producing high-quality printed and finished graphics to specification and deadline. The role will involve a combination of machine operation, finishing and pre-press, so would suit someone with a broad understanding of large-format print rather than someone who only operates a single machine.

Key responsibilities:

• Operating large-format digital print equipment
• Working with SwissQprint technology
• Preparing and processing artwork for production
• Using Caldera RIP software
• Carrying out pre-press checks and ensuring files are production-ready
• Operating Zünd digital cutting equipment
• Laminating printed graphics where required
• Setting up jobs and selecting appropriate substrates and media
• Checking print quality, colour and registration throughout production
• Carrying out finishing, trimming and preparation for dispatch
• Ensuring completed work meets customer and production specifications
• Working efficiently to meet deadlines and production schedules
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
• Supporting the wider production team when required

We are looking for someone with previous experience within a large-format print, digital print, signage, graphics or POS production environment. Ideally, you will have experience with some or all of the following:

• SwissQprint
• Zünd digital cutters
• Caldera
• Large-format digital print
• Laminating
• Print finishing
• Pre-press / artwork preparation
• RIP software
• Cutting and trimming
• Working with a variety of print substrates

You don't necessarily need to have experience across every area listed above. The key requirement is a good understanding of large-format print production, a strong eye for quality and the ability to work accurately in a busy environment.
