PMR / CUT & CREASE OPERATOR - DOUBLE DAYS

SALARY: £26,790 + 20% SHIFT ALLOWANCE (£32,148)
HOURS - DOUBLE DAYS:
Monday to Thursday - 6am till 1:25pm & Friday - 6am till 1pm
Monday to Thursday - 1:20pm till 9pm & Friday - 12:55pm till 6:55pm
Our client is an industry leader of bespoke printed folded cartons for a wide range of market sectors. With state-of-the-art equipment and on-site design, they are able to respond quickly and efficiently to all their customers packaging requirements.
They are currently looking to recruit a Cut & Crease Machine Operator to support the Cut & Crease Department by providing a full PMR service. The role involves setting up and operating cut & crease machines to meet production targets while adhering to all Quality Assurance standards and Health & Safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities - PMR Role:
- Order make ready components as required through Pre-Press
- Mount (and peg) counters to form for new work
- Make-Ready spare machine wherever possible
- Deliver printed sheets to the specified machine
- Resolve production problems and ensure corrective actions are connected for repeat work
- Obtain all tooling and components for press
- Provide general assistance to machine operators including meal break cover
- Set bottom pins for stripping
- Make and fit bespoke cutting rules as required
Key Responsibilities - Cut & Crease Machine Operation:
- Inspect die for any damage & ensure safely locked into chase prior to lifting in machines
- Adjust front and side lays to obtain best fit to printed sheet
- Prepare, make ready sheet, matrix and Braille if needed
- During make-ready process, check for marks, burst creases and squareness of carton and make any necessary adjustments
- Patch-up make ready sheet as necessary
- Set up the feed board, wheels and brushes, trips, detectors and photo-electric cells
- Ensure printed sheets are free from marking
- Set stripping unit
- Set up delivery
- Make running adjustments as appropriate
- Carry out pre make ready as required
- Comply with the Quality Assurance standard operating procedures, including in-process inspection documentation, at all times
- Overlook the running of other cut crease machines within the department
- Provide training to less skilled operators/trainees as required
- Ensure adherence to the Company's Quality Assurance, Environmental and Health & Safety Policies and Procedures and maintain compliance to all appropriate standards
- To carry out work safely in the interests of other employees and themselves, in compliance with current legislation and Company Environmental, Health & Safety procedures to including general housekeeping and 5's philosophy
- To undertake any reasonable request as directed by your Line Manager
