Machine Operators (Ref: PK9314)

MACHINE OPERATOR

CAMBRIDGESHIRE

Salary £28-32K Based on Experience

Rotating Triple Shifts, Monday to Friday (6 - 2/ 2 - 10, 10 - 2)

4-6 Month Temp to Perm Contract

Our client uses heavy industrial automated or semi-automated machinery to process paper and create customised commercial products used in global retail, hospitality, and logistics. They have a requirement for Machine Operators used to working in process driven manufacturing environments to train, run and be successfully permanently employed on the machines.

Day-to-Day Duties and Operations:

Machine Setup and Prep: Configuring the press/coater machines, loading jumbo paper rolls, loading ink/adhesives, and preparing components for the production shift.

Equipment Operation & Monitoring: Overseeing machinery to ensure proper tension, web alignment, print registration, and adhesive quality during high-volume runs.

Quality Control: Regularly checking and documenting product quality (print clarity, barcode readability, and adhesive tack) and adjusting machine settings to resolve defects.

Packaging and Labelling: Cutting, fan-folding, wrapping, and labelling the finished rolls and batches for warehousing and shipping.

Maintenance and Housekeeping: Performing routine equipment cleaning, basic mechanical upkeep, and ensuring strict adherence to site health and safety.

Qualifications/ Experience Required:

  • Any experience with complex machine operation in a high-volume process driven FMCG manufacturing environment will be considered.
  • A record of achieving targets set including quality, waste and efficiency.Good attention to detail and naturally follows processes and procedures exactly.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and a focus on health & safety.
  • Knowledge of implementing problem solving techniques / quality tools.
  • Team player who has a flexible approach within the team.
  • Demonstrates good standards of housekeeping and work area disciplines.
  • Computer literate and able to transact data accurately.
