MACHINE OPERATOR (MULTIPOINT GLUER) - CORRUGATED PACKAGING

BUCKINGHAMSHIRE

£Competitive Salary DOE + 20 Days Holiday rising to 25 Days + 8 Bank Holidays + + Company Pension + Overtime - time 1/3 during the week, time 1/2 on Saturday and Double Time Sunday

Hours: 37.5 hours per week - 6am to 2pm, 2pm to 10pm Monday to Friday

Our client designs and manufactures corrugated packaging. The business has various sites; and is one of the leading independent sheet plants in the UK. The company has an annual turnover of £20 million which is growing rapidly, currently employs circa 100 people and is well invested with further capital projects underway.

The business operates in the rapidly growing corrugated packaging market and the materials the company work with have strong green credentials which play a leading role in the war against single use plastic.

They currently have vacancies for Machine Operators. You will work within a team at their manufacturing site in a growing business, developing a range of skills initially as a Machine Operator. As process skills are mastered, the hourly pay increases. Their main processes include flexographic printing, rotary die cutting, flat bed die cutting, window patching, gluing, and stitching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be given a detailed training plan that will offer a clear path of progression including increases in pay.
  • Learning to operate manufacturing machinery that includes manual handling and heavy lifting.
  • Being an active member of a small team striving to hit daily / weekly KPI targets.
  • Ensuring that the products meet high-quality standards.
  • Ensuring your working environment is safe, clean, and tidy.
  • Following company health and safety procedures.

Necessary Skills:

  • Prior experience operating machinery in a shift working manufacturing environment.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Preferred skills
  • Experience of batch manufacturing process management.
  • Experience of die cutting, flexographic printing, gluing and stitching processes.
  • Knowledge and experience of BRCGS Food certified working environment.
