SALARY UP TO £37K (Depending on Experience) + Performance Related Bonus + Workplace Pension Contribution + Health Care + 25 Days Holiday with Bank Holidays on top
Shift Pattern: Weekly Rotating Shift Pattern
WEEK 1 - Monday to Friday - 6am to 2pm
WEEK 2 - Monday to Thursday - 2pm to 11pm & Friday - 2pm to 6pm
The training the hours will be Monday to Friday - 8am to 5pm
Our client is a leading manufacturer of paper-based packaging solutions specialising in producing solid board and customised packaging made from recycled materials. Covering a wide range of sectors including food, retail and industrial markets.
They are currently looking for a Laminator to join their production department. You will be responsible for operating a laminating machine running solid board reels to laminate solid board sheets to specified quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Mix glue and maintain glue system for laminating machine while keeping areas clean
- Safely loading laminating reels into reel stations to consume all reel to the core and monitor change overs, preparation, splicing and reel alignment, webbing & band tension
- Making sure that the laminating quality is of the highest standard of accuracy, size and flatness required for converting
- Ensure the machine is cleaned between orders and at the end of each day this includes rollers, glue section, waste skips, reel stations etc
- Monitor and fine tune machine running speeds to make sure efficiencies are maintained consistently to achieve targets and customer deliveries
- Handle all reels with care as any slight damage to reel can be extremely costly
- Cut, position, and align reels according to manufacturing instructions
- Perform visual inspections and run quality tests to include moisture test, measurements and flatness
- Coordinate with Team Leaders and planning team to maximise reel changeovers/output
- Reduce machine downtime by providing feedback to engineering teams to maximise running time and output
- Weekly routine maintenance cleaning down machine to maintain high BRC standards
- Working with the engineering team to grease and replace any worn parts, keeping work stations tidy and safe while adhering strictly to health and safety regulations
Requirements:
- Previous hands-on experience in laminating solid paperboard or a related manufacturing
- Experience within the packaging industry
- Machine operating experience, ability to read and follow standard operating procedures and work instructions
- An understanding of or previous experience of HACCP & BRC Compliance
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on quality.
- Team player with good communication skills and always prepared to help others
- Physically fit and capable of working on your feet for extended periods while handling materials safely, able to cover a large operational footprint
- KPI focused on delivering the required outputs for customer
