HALM JET PRESS PRINTER - ENVELOPES / DIRECT MAIL

LONDON

£Open DOE + Overtime + Pension + Parking

Monday to Friday: 07:00am to 15:00pm - 40 hours per week

Our client is one of the leading multi-channel marketing solutions companies in the UK. With a multi-million turnover and sites across the country, they provide high end products and solutions to a varied client market.

Purpose of Job: To support the achievement of the Group business goals by the operation of a number of different Halm Jet Press Envelope Printing Machines, helping the company provide a range of services that meet their planned schedules and customers specifications.

Responsibilities: Halm Jet Press Printer

  • To acquire a full knowledge of the range of equipment, products and services provided by the Envelope Production Department
  • To operate and maintain Halm Jet Press 2 colour and 4 colour litho envelope printing machinery.
  • To be able to understand the job bag instructions and produce the work to the required specifications and to gain a working knowledge of the MIS system, Shuttleworth.
  • To ensure that the envelope over-printing machines are set-up, maintained and repaired to enable them to achieve maximum productivity and to ensure that the quality of work being produced on the machines meets the Customers specification and time frames.
  • To maintain production logs
  • To monitor stocks of ink, to liaise with the Envelope Production Manager to ensure that the necessary stock of raw materials do not run out.
  • To ensure that the machines are running as fast and efficiently and as close to capacity as reasonably possible.
  • To constantly check the quality of the envelopes being produced on the machines and to alert the Envelope Production Manager should the quality drop below the required standard as per the signed off copy in the job bag.
  • To stop the machine if the quality of the product is below the required standard and cannot be quickly improved and maintained.
  • To regularly check for ink build up on rollers and to clean as and when appropriate.
  • To clean and prepare the machines for the next job.
  • To ensure that all relevant paperwork is filled in and completed accurately and on time.
  • To carry out routine scheduled maintenance with particular emphasis on the machine guarding.
  • To ensure that all quality procedures are carried out and adhered to and that the output control sheets and quality records are completed.
  • To undertake any other support task as requested by the Business Unit Director or the Envelope Production Manger
  • To participate as a team member to ensure the teams production targets are achieved.
  • Maintain a tidy and clean work area ensuring that machines and the packing area is kept in a safe, clean and orderly manner.
  • Understand and adhere to the company policies and procedures with particular emphasis on quality and health and safety.
  • To be willing and able to work overtime at short notice as and when required.
  • To ensure that all of the correct procedures are followed for ISO quality checking and the appropriate paperwork is completed.
  • To help ensure that all of the departments SLA's are met.
  • Perform the required daily machine safety checks.
  • Undertake support tasks as directed by the Envelope Production Manager.
  • Good time keeping and attendance.
  • To be willing and able to work overtime at relatively short notice and to cover holidays and sickness as and when required.


Internal Relationships: All staff and the Group departments as required but in particular, Laser Print Department, Finishing, Production Management, DP, Client Services, on the site.

External Relationships: Suppliers, Clients as and when required.

Background / Experience: A successful 2 years proven record of accomplishment gained as a Halm Jet Press Printer in an Envelope Overprint and Production department or environment.

Skills / Abilities:

  • A knowledge on how to operate 2 colour and 4 colour Halm Jet Press Printers.
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions, attention to detail.
  • Team player, able and willing to assist other members of the team.
  • Able to maintain good disciplines, standards, initiative, and drive.
  • Able to ensure that all documentation is complete and accurate.
