GLUING MACHINE MINDER - CARTONS

SOUTH EAST - KENT

SALARY £COMPETITIVE (Depending on Experience) + 25 Days Holiday plus 8 Bank Holidays + 20% Shift Premium for Nights & 15% Shift Premium between 6pm to 10pm + Overtime paid at Time ½ + Pension + Onsite Parking + Death in Service + Other Benefits

Our client is a manufacturer of printed cartons based in the South East. They have an excellent reputation in the industry for providing high quality products, as well as being reliable selling into a diverse range of market sectors.

They are currently looking to recruit a Gluing Machine Minder due to the continued growth of the business. The ideal candidate will have experience operating gluing machines and a proven ability to deliver high-quality output in a fast-paced, time-critical environment. You must also be prepared to work on a rotating shift which includes night shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate jobs efficiently while meeting safety, quality, and productivity targets
  • Complete all required administration, including accurate data entry into the company's information management systems
  • Identify maintenance issues, resolving them where possible, or reporting them promptly to the appropriate personnel in line with departmental procedures
  • Carry out quality checks in accordance with company guidelines
  • Maintain machines, tooling, auxiliary equipment, and the working area in a clean, safe, and organised condition
  • Perform routine machine maintenance
  • Notify the Supervisor of any consumable stock requirements
  • Use the appropriate equipment to assist with material preparation
  • Support departmental training needs by assisting in the development of Gluing Apprentices and Assistants
  • Undertake any other duties as directed by a member of the management team
  • Adhere to all business management system requirements
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant certification requirements

Requirements:

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Proven experience operating gluing machines, such as Diana, Starfold and Omega
  • Skilled at prioritising multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines
  • Able to remain composed and focused under pressure
  • Confident, enthusiastic and committed to ongoing learning and development
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational abilities
  • Previous experience in the packaging sector is desirable
  • A structured, methodical, and logical approach to work
