Salary based on experience + Shift Allowance
Full Time & Part Time hours available; some flexibility on hours - typical shift is 40 hrs per week; 4 days on / 4 off (10hr shifts)
Due to an increase in production volumes and investment in a new plant, our Client is recruiting additional Flexographic Press Operators to complement the existing team within a busy label production department.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the printing of high quality labels to customer's specifications, whilst maintaining a high quality standard and finishing level throughout.
Must be able to work effectively and efficiently without the need for ongoing supervision.
Previous experience producing high quality printed labels on a high speed press is essential.
The position will involve both shift work on a two or three shift rota and non-shift work. Shift work will attract a premium rate.
It is essential that the applicant is able to successfully differentiate colours.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Running a multi-colour Flexographic printing press with up to 10 colour web, 250mm to 400mm wide, producing high quality labels on a variety of materials and in a variety of finishes.
- Experience in printing using U/V and water based inks and varnishes.
- Experience of using foils and laminates would be of benefit but not essential.
- Able to differentiate colour, read and check copy.
- Responsible for ensuring that the product is made to specification, to a high standard and all quality checks are carried out in accordance with company ISO quality standards and operating procedures.
- Troubleshooting issues with regards to output and quality.
- Accurate recording of time and material used against each job and recording of non-production time.
- Ensuring that the work area, equipment and machinery are kept clean and tidy during shift and at end of shift, in accordance with working procedures.
- Strict adherence to all health and safety and environmental policies relating to the role and work area will be required at all times.
- A willingness to accept and adapt to change whilst assisting to achieve continued improvements and reductions in waste will be essential.
