Our client is a market leader with an international customer-base, serving a broad range of customer sectors. Products include flexo & digital printed self-adhesive and in-mould labels, sleeves, packaging, cartons, premium decoration, creative design, and branding. You will be responsible for the operation and management of flexographic printing equipment, including multi-colour narrow web servo-driven presses. The role involves preparing presses for production, setting up print jobs, monitoring print quality throughout the run, and resolving any operational issues that may arise.

The successful candidate will oversee printing operations to ensure machinery performs within specified operating parameters, making adjustments where necessary to maintain quality and efficiency. They will also prepare and manage inks and solvents in accordance with the substrate being printed and the job specifications.

Responsibilities

• Produce printed work to the required quality standards and ensure those standards are consistently achieved.
• Operate printing presses efficiently, meeting production speed and make-ready targets wherever possible, while recording and reporting any variances.
• Continuously look for opportunities to improve production methods, minimise downtime and reduce quality issues.
• Work closely with the Production Manager to maximise machine efficiency, minimise waste and ensure customer delivery deadlines are met without compromising quality.
• Contribute positively as part of the production team by supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge where appropriate.
• Follow all Quality Control and Quality Assurance procedures within the Print Department, ensuring production records are completed accurately.
• Adhere to all health and safety procedures, promoting safe working practices that protect employees and maintain efficient operations.
• Maintain effective communication within the Print Department to encourage strong teamwork and collaboration.

Skills & Experience

• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good customer service awareness.
• Ability to operate flexographic printing equipment or quickly learn new machinery and associated software.
• Capable of following written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Well organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Previous experience operating flexographic printing presses.
• Knowledge of SEDEX and ETI standards would be beneficial but is not essential.
• Experience working effectively within a team environment with clear and professional communication skills.
