Our Client is a market leading packaging solutions supplier in the UK. They provide their clients with a full range of polythene bags, film, stretch films, tapes, labels, board, cartons, boxes, strapping, protective and
transit packaging.
They are currently recruiting for an experienced External Packaging Specialist to join their sales team to cover the Sheffield territory. You will be responsible for driving growth across your territory, managing accounts,
winning new business and promoting the company single source packaging solutions while balancing price, service and margin to deliver high results.
The role is approx 75% targeting new business & 25% managing existing accounts
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and prioritise sales activity to exceed monthly and annual targets
- Build and maintain a strong new business pipeline
- Promote the benefits of single-source packaging supply & demonstrate the value it brings
- Manage pricing, margins, and service to achieve gross profit targets
- Spot & secure new opportunities using market knowledge while growing existing accounts
- Accurately record and maintain sales activity and pipeline data
- Work closely with your Sales Coordinator to share updates on prospects and progress
- Monitor competitor activity and report insights
- Support marketing and training initiatives including product launches, exhibitions, and campaigns
Requirements:
- Proven field sales background, ideally within packaging distribution or solution-based consultative sales
- Packaging knowledge (corrugated, polythene films, adhesive tapes, strapping) is advantageous but not essential
- Ability to build relationships at multiple levels within SMEs and large organisations
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- A-level education (or equivalent) minimum
- A proactive opportunity-spotter with a consistent record of new business success
- Tenacious, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Positive, solutions-focused mindset
