Our client is a family-owned integrated Corrugated Packaging Company based in Australia, they are a phenomenal business who have state of the art machinery and are renowned for their impeccable quality and service levels! Our client makes impressive and continual investment into their business and employees as they are now looking to take the next step in their development and expansion plans.

They are currently looking for an experienced Engineering / Maintenance Managers who are genuinely interested in relocating to Australia. You will be responsible for leading, coordinating and managing the maintenance division to ensure that facilities, layout and manufacturing machinery and equipment perform to their maximum efficiency and output.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall management, leadership, and control of the Maintenance Division
  • Lead, train, guide, and coach Maintenance personnel to achieve business goals and foster a proactive, high-performance culture
  • Ensure plant and equipment are safe, compliant, and capable of delivering products reliably through total preventative maintenance and effective breakdown management of mechanical, electrical, and robotic systems (including software/PLC programming)
  • Oversee the installation, reallocation, and commissioning of plant and equipment, ensuring technical integrity, safety, and adherence to project budgets and timelines
  • Maintain robust cost control over the maintenance budget, authorising expenditure in line with Company policy and delegated authority
  • Plan and coordinate all maintenance activities through the Computerised Maintenance Management System (MEX) to optimise asset performance and minimise downtime
  • Undertake hands-on maintenance tasks when required to support operational continuity
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies that promote zero breakdowns, improved uptime, and increased productivity
  • Provide expert advice on maintenance methods, processes, and best practices across all site equipment
  • Lead root cause and corrective action analysis to prevent the recurrence of mechanical or operational issues
  • Participate in formulating the company's strategic direction, long-term plans, and operational objectives, ensuring alignment with manufacturing and facilities goals
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of Lean and continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with management and cross-functional teams
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to benchmark maintenance performance, ensuring effective use of resources and consistent achievement of targets
  • Participate in the preparation of budgets & forecasts, ensuring goals are met or exceeded
  • Ensure all work complies with WH&S management systems, policies/relevant legislation
  • Support production operations by ensuring maintenance activities align with quality and safety standards
  • Drive prompt corrective actions when quality non-conformance or performance issues are identified
  • Foster open, respectful communication across the Maintenance and Production teams
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and set clear personal and team objectives
  • Monitor attendance and absences in accordance with company policy
  • Lead and motivate staff to exceed targets and continuously improve operational and behavioural performance

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Maintenance Team Leader or Management role within the packaging industry (medium to large-scale operation preferred)
