Hours of Work: Monday to Friday - 7:30am till 3:30pm

Our client is a global manufacturer of bespoke packaging products. They are currently looking to recruit a Die Cut Supervisor to join their team.

Our client is currently looking to recruit an experienced Die Cut Area Supervisor to lead and manage the Die Cut department, ensuring high standards of safety and performance are achieved at all times. The successful candidate will take full operational responsibility for the die cut area, driving machine performance, leading the team effectively and ensuring production targets are consistently met in line with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion a strong behavioural safety culture within the Die Cut area, ensuring all teams consistently meet site safety standards
  • Ensure all safety incidents, near misses and hazards are logged, investigated & closed in a timely manner, resolving issues directly where possible and escalating where necessary
  • Proactively identify activities requiring risk assessments, including 90-second risk assessments and ensure all safety audits are completed in line with requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement in quality performance across all Die Cut machines, maintaining high production and hygiene standards within the Cut & Crease area
  • Work closely with the Quality department to investigate and resolve issues, completing structured root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to stop reoccurrence
  • Ensure all quality checks, job documentation and production records are completed accurately and in full
  • Lead, develop and organise the Die Cut team to achieve optimum performance, identifying skills gaps and supporting training and succession planning
  • Maintain accurate training and competency records, update WI's and Poka skills with the Training Co-ordinator, and ensure full team engagement with skills matrices and development plans
  • Manage recruitment, inductions, weekly manning levels and resource allocation to ensure machines operate efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with PPE, hygiene & site standards, conduct appraisals and probation reviews and manage performance in line with company policy and with HR where required
  • Take full ownership of performance within the Die Cut area, driving Continuous Improvement initiatives to maximise output, efficiency and production target achievement
  • Identify and resolve operational issues impacting equipment effectiveness, implementing improvement plans and ensuring effective shift handovers
  • Drive PCS compliance through daily meetings, collaborate with planning to agree optimal run lists, and ensure accurate shop floor data capture and job bag completion
  • Communicate clearly with the Shift Manager on production status and carry out minor fault-finding where appropriate, escalating to Engineering when required
  • Analyse performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities, feeding initiatives into the CRP pipeline and presenting weekly and monthly performance reviews with action plans
  • Actively engage the team in WCO pillars, supporting and leading improvement projects that enhance operational efficiency
  • Drive and sustain Autonomous Maintenance (AM) activities in line with the masterplan, ensuring improvements are embedded into business as usual
  • Minimise material waste through effective machine operation and workforce planning
  • Ensure tooling scanning compliance and effective tooling management, including the control and ordering of consumables
  • Manage overtime in line with production demands highlighted by Planning
  • Lead by example in line with leadership competencies: Build our Business, Plan & Organise, Inspire & Motivate, Drive for Results, Collaborate and Act with Integrity

Requirements:

  • Previous supervisory experience within a packaging or manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of die cut machinery and manufacturing processes
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety standards within a production environment
  • Experience of driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Good problem-solving and fault-finding ability
  • Competent in using production systems and data to monitor and improve performance
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, hands-on approach
  • Results-driven, safety-focused and committed to maintaining high operational standards
