SALARY GUIDE £35K-45K (Depending on Experience) + COMPANY CAR + NO BONUS STRUCTURE AS YET BUT THIS WILL HOPEFULLY BE IN PLACE NEXT YEAR
Our client is a market leader with an international customer-base, serving a broad range of customer sectors. Products include printed folded cartons, flexo & digital printed self-adhesive & in-mould labels, sleeves, packaging materials and machinery, flexible packaging, premium decoration, creative design, and branding. Ethical and environmental responsibility is at the heart of all global operations.
They are currently looking to recruit for a results-driven Business Development Manager to drive growth in a wide range of packaging products including cartons, packaging materials, labels, flexible packaging etc. You will be responsible for focusing on identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities, building long term customer relationships and maximising revenue potential from both new and existing accounts.
The role will be to focus on contacting approx. 1000 lapsed / warm customers that need re-establishing, you will also be passed approx. 30 live customers to manage. The role will involve cross selling all group packaging products
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within a range of packaging products
- Reporting directly to the Sales Director
- Develop and execute strategies to grow market share and revenue
- Build and maintain strong, long-term partnerships with key customers
- Understand client needs and align solutions to meet their business objectives
- Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs through strategic account management and effective pipeline oversight
- Present the technical, operational, and sustainability benefits to procurement, technical, and operational stakeholders
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation
- Work closely with internal teams including Technical, Production and Customer Service to ensure seamless project delivery
- Provide regular sales reports, pipeline updates, and market insights to management
- Support internal teams in delivering service solutions that add ongoing value
- Understand customers' market landscapes to proactively identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and added value
- Act as the liaison between the company and customers, supporting national accounts and enhancing overall customer service excellence
Requirements:
- Proven B2B sales experience, ideally within packaging industry
- Excellent verbal communication skills confident in face-to-face and telephone interactions
- Skilled in negotiation and presentations, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Commercially astute with the ability to create value-based propositions
- Self-motivated and a target-driven individual
- Capable of working independently while contributing to a team
- Willingness to travel across the UK and occasionally internationally
