Our client specialises in the manufacture and importation of packaging used in Waste, Health, manufacturing and food sectors. They hold BRC and CHSA Accreditations that run alongside their ISO and clinical waste standards.
They are currently recruiting for a Contract Manager / Sustainability Manager to be responsible for overseeing tenders, monitoring sustainability & carbon footprint, tracking contract journeys and ensuring that any issues which arise are resolved as quickly and effectively as possible. Provide guidance on sustainability matters and build the strategy towards a circular economy. To support the NPD, Technical, sales and operations teams as the expert in how company products impact the markets served.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing / checking tenders for clients and commercial bids to help bring in new business
- Provide legislative, regulatory and sustainability support on any new material evaluation
- Provide advice and guidance on sustainability to customers
- Developing and presenting project proposals
- Liaising with clients to find out their requirements
- Driving sustainability practices by identifying areas where business can improve to achieve net zero
- Attending seminars on sustainability and providing updates on customers' requirements
- Tracking and recording scope 1 / 2 / 3 emissions
- Producing plans and estimating budgets and timescales
- Discussing, drafting, reviewing and negotiating the terms of business contracts
- Agreeing budgets and timescales with the clients
- Dealing with any unexpected costs
- Reduce expenditure by negotiating lesser supplier costs, streamlining processes, and formulating more efficient workflows.
Requirements:
- Proficient in proposal writing, negotiation and tender submissions
- Highly skilled in stakeholder collaboration and resource planning
- Adept at creating pricing strategies and evaluating financial data to ensure presentations are competitive and profitable
- Proven ability to verify timescales are achieved at each step of the proposal process, including internal governance
- An understanding of the print or packaging industry is preferred although other related sectors will be considered
- An understanding of legal documentation
- Excellent Numeracy IT skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Business management skills
- The ability to use your initiative
