CNC / PRODUCTION OPERATOR - SIGNAGE / DISPLAYS

£32K - £36K (DOE) + Overtime + Performance Related Bonuses

Monday to Friday: 8:00am - 5:00pm

Our client is a specialist signage manufacturer based in Hertfordshire. They create 3D & flat-cut letters, illuminated signs, shop fascias and retail displays in metal, wood and acrylic. They are now seeking a CNC / Production Operator to join their growing workshop team. The position centres are operating the latest CNC letter-bending machines and laser-welding technology to produce built-up metal letters in aluminium, stainless steel and brass, while also supporting wider production tasks across the workshop.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating Various Machinery such as: CNC Flatbed, Laser Welding, Letter Benders, Laser Cutters, Plasma Cutter, CNC Press Brake, Various Hand Tools, Vinyl Plotters etc.
  • Ideal Software Experience: Solidworks and CorelDraw
  • Operate CNC machinery and associated computer software to produce precision signage components.
  • Set up and adjust tooling, feeds and speeds for efficient, accurate production runs.
  • Assist with day-to-day workshop production including cutting, finishing, assembly and packaging of signage products.
  • Quality Control
  • Use standard workshop tools such as drill press, hole punch, guillotine, folders and hand tools.
  • Monitor quality at each stage, carrying out basic inspection and measurements to maintain high standards.
  • Prepare materials, load/unload machines and ensure stock is correctly handled and stored.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, following health & safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members and support other production tasks to meet deadlines.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous CNC machining experience preferred; training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Practical workshop or production experience advantageous.
  • Good mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and ability to read technical drawings.
  • Well-organised, self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a small team.
  • Flexible attitude to support different stages of the production process as required.
