Our client is a renowned specialist in flexible packaging, offering end-to-end manufacturing capabilities in-house. They produce a diverse range of products, including film on reels, bags, pouches, lay-flat tubing, and technical/performance films. These solutions cater to both food and non-food applications, with a strong commitment to quality and agility in meeting customer demands.

They are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to join their team. Reporting directly to the Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving new business growth while managing key accounts once established. This position offers the chance to collaborate with blue-chip companies, household names, and emerging enterprises, contributing significantly to the company's ambitious growth trajectory within the UK market.

Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead new business development efforts, identifying and securing opportunities aligned with the company's growth strategy.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients across multiple market sectors.
  • Work closely with blue-chip clients and emerging businesses, delivering tailored solutions to meet their needs.
  • Provide accurate quotations and collaborate with the sales support team to ensure seamless execution.
  • Attend industry exhibitions and proactively follow up on leads to expand business opportunities.
  • Utilise industry insights to identify untapped markets and expand the customer base.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the company's overall business strategy.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years proven sales track record in the sector and a proven capability in developing new business in flexible packaging.
  • Grow and maintain the customer base, using industry / market knowledge to source new business opportunities and establish new business sectors in line with the company growth strategy.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels and a skilled negotiator
  • Provide quotations and solutions to customers' needs and full liaison with Company sales support team
  • Attend exhibitions and follow up any leads
  • Proficient with all normal software applications (MS Office) and ideally CRM software
  • Take part in delivering overall business strategy
