Our client is a leading UK manufacturer of flexible packaging, renowned for delivering high-quality, innovative packaging solutions supported by exceptional service, rapid lead times and industry-leading manufacturing standards.
They have invested heavily in recent years and are now looking to recruit an ambitious Business Development Manager to develop new and existing business throughout the UK. This role is ideal for an experienced sales professional with a background in flexible packaging ideally pouches who enjoys building long-term customer relationships and identifying new commercial opportunities. The candidate will be confident in their own abilities.
The successful candidate will be selling bespoke flexible packaging solutions, including printed
pouches and sachets, to brands and businesses who are looking for high-quality, functional
and visually impactful packaging.
The role will suit someone who is confident in their own abilities, proactive and commercially minded.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifying and targeting new business opportunities across the UK.
- Developing and managing a healthy sales pipeline from prospecting through to conversion.
- Generating new leads through a combination of outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, research and industry activity.
- Understanding customer requirements and identifying appropriate packaging solutions.
- Working closely with internal technical, artwork, production and customer service teams to ensure customer requirements are delivered.
- Developing existing accounts and identifying opportunities for increased spend and additional product lines.
- Keeping up to date with developments in flexible packaging, sustainability, materials, printing and packaging legislation.
- Attending customer meetings, industry events, exhibitions and networking opportunities where appropriate.
- Maintaining accurate CRM records, sales forecasts and pipeline activity.
- Preparing and presenting commercial proposals and quotations.
- Negotiating pricing and commercial terms to maximise profitable revenue.
- Achieving agreed sales, margin and new-business targets.
