Our client is a leading flexible packaging company supplying woven polypropylene sacks, bulk bags and FIBC's to a range of market sectors including building, engineering, food and chemical markets.

PRODUCT RANGE: WOVEN POLYPROPYLENE SACKS, BULK BAGS AND FIBC'S

They are currently looking for a highly motivated and results oriented Business Development Manager to join their company. The successful candidate will be selling industrial packaging such as FIBCs, Polypropylene/Paper & Polythene sacks into a wide range of industries including recycling, industrial, building, agricultural and chemical.

You will play a critical role in driving sales growth, acquiring new customers and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, exceptional communication and negotiation skills and a good understanding of the packaging industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies and tactics to expand market share
  • Build a robust pipeline of prospective customers through lead generation activities, including cold calling, networking and attending industry events
  • Conduct sales presentations and product demonstrations to prospective clients
  • Negotiate and close deals, ensuring optimal pricing and contract terms
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to maximize customer satisfaction and retention
  • Regularly engage with clients to understand their needs, address concerns, and provide solutions that align with their objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, production, and warehouse, to ensure seamless order fulfilment and exceptional customer service
  • Provide ongoing support and assistance to clients, serving as their main point of contact for all enquiries and requests
  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts, budgets, and presentations for management
  • Track sales performance against budgeted targets

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of success in sales, with at least 1 year of experience in a similar role within the packaging industry
  • Experience in selling packaging solutions or related products to diverse industries
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong customer relationship management skills, with a focus on building trust and delivering exceptional service
  • Ability to understand customer needs & align them with appropriate packaging solutions
  • Results-oriented mindset, with a proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events
