STRUCTURAL DESIGNER - POS

SURREY / SOUTH LONDON

Salary: £Negotiable DOE + Overtime (Paid at Time & Half) + 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Excellent Benefits

Our client is a highly respected and well-established creative manufacturing business, delivering innovative retail display and point-of-sale solutions for many of the UK's leading brands and retailers. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Structural Designer to join their talented design team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and technically minded individual with a passion for designing impactful retail displays. Working closely with clients, account managers and production teams, you will develop innovative structural concepts that are both visually engaging and commercially viable, taking projects from initial brief through to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design innovative cardboard POS displays including FSDUs, CDU's, dump bins, shelf-ready packaging, counter displays and other retail display solutions.
• Produce creative structural concepts that are practical, cost-effective and suitable for manufacture.
• Create accurate CAD drawings, cutting forms and production-ready artwork using Kasemake or similar structural design software.
• Develop high-quality 2D and 3D visualisations to communicate design concepts to internal teams and clients.
• Work closely with Account Managers, Creative Designers and Production to ensure projects meet client expectations, budgets and timescales.
• Recommend suitable board grades, materials and manufacturing methods to achieve the best possible outcome.
• Produce prototypes and samples, making refinements where necessary following testing and client feedback.
• Ensure all designs meet retailer specifications, brand guidelines and manufacturing capabilities.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

Requirements

• Previous experience within a Structural Design role, ideally within the POS, retail display or packaging industry.
• Strong working knowledge of Kasemake or similar structural CAD software.
• Experience designing corrugated and cardboard POS displays.
• Knowledge of print, finishing and manufacturing processes.
• 3D Studio Max or similar visualisation software would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Excellent technical drawing and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present and explain design concepts confidently.
• Self-motivated, organised and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
