PRODUCTION MANAGER - CORRUGATED PACKAGING

COMMUTABLE FROM NORTH WALES / CHESHIRE

SALARY UP TO £55K

HOURS: MONDAY TO FRIDAY - 8AM TILL 4.30PM - Candidate is required to work outside of these hours at times to meet the needs of the business

Our client is a well-established independent sheet plant specialising in bespoke conventional corrugated packaging solutions, including Shelf Ready Packaging (SRP) and Retail Ready Packaging (RRP). Supplying a diverse range of market sectors, including the food industry, they have built a strong reputation for quality, service and flexibility.

They are currently seeking an experienced Production Manager to join their successful and growing corrugated packaging manufacturing operation. This hands-on leadership role will be responsible for overseeing a six-line production facility, ensuring production targets, quality standards and operational efficiencies are consistently met.

The successful candidate will play a key role in production planning, machine utilisation, team leadership, and continuous improvement across the manufacturing operation.

CORRUGATED PACKAGING EXPERIENCE IS DESIRABLE HOWEVER NOT ESSENTIAL

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily management of a six-line corrugated packaging production facility
  • Plan and coordinate machine schedules to maximise productivity and efficiency
  • Ensure production targets, quality standards and customer delivery requirements are met
  • Lead, motivate and develop production teams to maintain high performance levels
  • Monitor operational performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work closely with planning, sales, and warehouse functions to ensure smooth workflow
  • Manage labour resources effectively and support workforce development
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality procedures
  • Identify and resolve production issues quickly to minimise downtime

Requirements:

  • Previous management experience within the corrugated packaging industry is ideal but not essential
  • Experience managing multiple production lines and production planning activities
  • Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to engage and develop teams
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Results-driven with a focus on quality, efficiency and customer service
  • Flexible approach to working hours when business needs require additional support
