SALARY CIRCA £47K + 24 Days Holiday plus Bank Holidays + Christmas Shut Down with 3 working days taken from Entitlement + Overtime + Pension + Life Assurance Scheme + Sick Pay + Profit Related Bonus Scheme

WORKING HOURS: (40hrs) Sunday to Wednesday - 10:00pm till 6:00am
Thursday - 10:00pm to 5:00am
(Breaks are paid - 2 x 15-minute breaks per shift)

Our client are a leading bespoke corrugated packaging manufacturer and solutions provider (design, manufacture and print all in house). The company supply a wide range of market sectors including FMCG, retailers, supermarkets, produce markets, growers, food, cosmetic, automotive, industrial and horticultural.

They are currently looking to recruit a Multi-Skilled Engineer to work in accordance with all legislative and manufacturer requirements to ensure the optimised operation of all machinery in a safe, accurate and efficient manner.

They are looking for someone to have a working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems to conduct maintenance, fault finding and diagnostics on existing systems including fixed wiring and machine control in an industrial/ manufacturing experience setting. You will be assisting in the installation of new electrical and mechanical systems and to maintain those systems while upholding safety guidelines and complying with codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in line with the health and safety regulations and following strict operating procedure and work with the current maintenance team
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical problems in commercial and industrial systems, including fault-finding, rewiring, and monitoring
  • Install electrical systems to 17th/18th edition wiring regulations
  • Possess working knowledge of IEE regulations, City & Guilds 2360 and 2382 qualifications, and inspection and testing certificate (2391)
  • Use electrical test equipment to find faults in a multitude of circuits
  • Assess the parts needed for a job and place orders for those parts
  • Conduct routine maintenance on a range of production machinery and testing on commercial, electrical/mechanical equipment, and ensure installations are to site standards, including, LV systems, motor starter, control circuits and feedback loops
  • Ensure good quality workmanship which upholds company standards, complies with relevant safety standards, and follows current regulation requirements
  • Work alone to find and present faults and concerns in electro-mechanical systems without receiving explicit direction
  • Experience of mechanical engineering work is desirable
  • Perform root cause analysis of faults or line performance issues and put in place corrective actions to stop repeat failures
  • Use of systems to input engineering maintenance data

Requirements:

  • Previous mechanical and electrical engineering experience within a manufacturing or production environment is essential
  • Qualified to 17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations with a completed Electrical Apprenticeship
  • Working knowledge of IEE Regulations and familiarity with NICEIC requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic drawings for fault finding and diagnostics
  • Proven experience in electrical fault finding, diagnostics, equipment calibration, roll gap setting and encoder feedback
  • Experience carrying out risk assessments and working safely in an industrial environment
  • Knowledge of automation systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), PLCs, and software/programming would be advantageous
  • City & Guilds 2360 and 2382 qualifications, along with Inspection and Testing (2391), are desirable
  • Apprentice trained, FLT and/or MEWP licences are desirable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with good computer literacy
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Demonstrates a high level of safety awareness and commitment to safe working practices
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, use initiative and take ownership of tasks through to completion
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with a proactive, "can-do" approach
  • Able to prioritise workloads effectively and consistently deliver work to a high standard
