Hours: Monday To Friday, 8:30 - 5:00pm

Our client is a well-established supplier of transit packaging products based in the South East. They provide their clients with a range of corrugated cases, pallets, plywood cases, heavy duty packaging, cushioning, foam and composite packaging. They are a long-established company with an enviable reputation for quality and service where their main customers are blue chip medical, electronic and automotive. Their customer base runs from the Midlands to the South coast, where they deliver regular repeat business to very tight deadlines

An Excellent opportunity has risen, and they are now looking for a Manufacturing Manager to join their team. The role is for a hands-on candidate with experience in a production environment and who is equally comfortable with managing teams (production, design, and sales) and with interfacing with key clients.

The client's approach is unique in that they provide a partnership in advising and helping customers achieve the best possible packaging to help them protect their products. They provide a complete packaging service from concept, and design right through to finished product.


Packaging industry experience preferred.

The Role:

  • Looking for a professional Manufacturing Manager to coordinate and oversee organisation's operations.
  • The Manufacturing Manager role is mainly to implement the right processes and practices across the organisation.
  • You will be experienced in achieving strategic growth in a low volume, short lead time manufacturing organisation and be proficient in leading change, problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • An interest in people development and the ability to develop cross functional teams.
  • A good listener who can absorb information from several quarters and deliver valued progression.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way
  • Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices
  • Purchase materials, plan inventory and oversee production scheduling
  • Help the organisation's processes remain legally compliant
  • Formulate strategic and operational objectives
  • To introduce production KPIs
  • Recruit, train and supervise staff
  • Find ways to increase efficiencies and reduce costs
  • Drive operational improvements to ensure first class client relationships
  • Be part of the team to throw ideas around for company improvement and growth

Skills / Requirements:

  • At least 5 Years' experience in a fast-paced production/customer service environment
  • Practical skills in engineering/manufacturing or a proven track record of life experience in a related environment
  • Ability to grasp different disciplines of manufacture across mixed products
  • Familiarity with business principles
  • Decision maker
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Leadership ability
  • Outstanding organisational skills
  • Willing to lead from the front when required.
