SALARY GUIDE £UP TO £40K (Flexible Depending on Experience) + Overtime paid at time and a ½ or Time in Lieu
HOURS: MONDAY TO FRIDAY - 8am till 4.30pm - (Flexibility is required as occasional overtime may be necessary to carry out maintenance, repairs and breakdown work outside of normal production hours - Additional hours can be paid as overtime or taken as time in lieu)
Our client is a well-established independent sheet plant specialising in bespoke conventional corrugated packaging solutions, including Shelf Ready Packaging (SRP) and Retail Ready Packaging (RRP). Supplying a diverse range of market sectors, including the food industry, they have built a strong reputation for quality, service and flexibility.
They are currently looking to recruit a hands-on Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical bias to support the reliability and performance of their manufacturing equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of corrugated packaging machinery and associated plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance across all production machinery and site equipment
- Diagnose and repair faults quickly and effectively to minimise production downtime
- Support reactive maintenance activities and breakdown response
- Conduct machine adjustments, overhauls, repairs and installations
- Assist with continuous improvement projects to enhance machine performance, reliability and efficiency
- Maintain maintenance records and documentation accurately
- Work closely with production teams to ensure maximum machine availability
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company health & safety procedures
- Liaise with external contractors and suppliers when required
Requirements:
- Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical engineering skills with experience of conveyors, drives, bearings, gearboxes, pneumatics and general machinery maintenance
- Electrical fault-finding skills would be beneficial but are not essential
- Experience within corrugated packaging, print, converting, FMCG, food manufacturing, or similar production environments would be advantageous
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively
- Positive, proactive approach to problem-solving
