MACHINE OPERATOR - CORRUGATED PACKAGING - ROTATING SHIFTS

WEST MIDLANDS

SALARY: £12.79 (Plus Shift Premium mentioned below) an hour during initial training - increase to £15.10 (Plus Shift Premium) after training period (approx. 12 weeks)

40 HOURS PER WEEK:

MONDAY TO FRIDAY: 6am until 2pm
2pm until 10pm (arrival at 1:50pm for paid 10 minute handover)

SUNDAY TO THRUSDAY: 10pm until 6am (arrival at 9:50pm for paid 10 minute handover)
- Shift premium: 20% when working 6am to 2pm and 1:50pm to 10pm
- 30% when working 10pm to 6am
The shift allowance is applied during your training period

Our client is a well-established and highly respected manufacturer within the corrugated and sustainable packaging sector, supplying bespoke packaging solutions to customers across a wide range of industries throughout the UK.

They are currently looking a reliable and hardworking Machine Operators to join their production department. This role offers training, clear progression and the opportunity to become multi-skilled across a range of machines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the machine safely and efficiently following full training
• Set up, run, monitor, and adjust machinery to meet production targets
• Progress to operating additional machines as part of a multi‑skilling programme
• Carry out quality checks to ensure products meet specification
• Identify and report faults, defects or maintenance issues promptly
• Follow all health, safety and housekeeping standards at all times
• Work collaboratively with colleagues during shift handovers
• Accurately complete basic production and quality records

Requirements:

• Previous machine operating or manufacturing experience desirable but not essential
• Willingness to learn and become multi‑skilled
• Good attention to detail and quality standards
• Ability to work shifts reliably and on time
• Strong awareness of health and safety
• Team‑focused with good communication skills
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Dependable and punctual
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced production environment
• Flexible and open to training on new equipment
