HOURS: Monday to Friday - 37.5 per week (Flexible on Start/Finish Times)
Our client is a manufacturer of high-quality printed carton packaging based in the Kent. They have an excellent reputation in the industry for providing high quality products, as well as being reliable selling into a diverse range of market sectors. Specialising in bespoke litho laminated cartons and high end carton packaging solutions for premium markets including food, beverage, cosmetics and electronics markets.
They are currently looking for a Key Account Manager to join their team with a key role in developing and growing relationships with their most valued customers. You will be primary point of contact for a portfolio of key accounts, responsible for building strong long-term relationships, delivering outstanding customer service and driving business growth. You will work closely with internal departments ensuring customer requirements are met while identifying opportunities to increase revenue, improve account performance and support the delivery of strategic business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and develop relationships with key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term business growth
- Own and execute the commercial strategy for assigned key accounts, identifying opportunities to increase revenue and profitability
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including new markets, clients, partnerships, products and services
- Maintain a strong understanding of the company's product portfolio, competitor landscape and market positioning to support commercial decision-making
- Build relationships with prospective clients, assessed their business needs and develop tailored proposals and solutions
- Manage customer enquiries from initial project brief through to completion, working closely with customer service and internal teams to ensure requirements are understood, communicated effectively and delivered on time
- Provide comprehensive internal support for designated high-profile brands and customers, ensuring exceptional service and smooth project execution
- Represent the company at industry conferences, exhibitions and networking events to strengthen partnerships and stay informed on market trends
- Produce accurate sales forecasts, monitored performance against targets and implement strategies to achieve and exceed revenue objectives
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to deliver seamless customer experiences and successful commercial outcomes
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' proven experience in a sales or key account management role
- Minimum of 5 years' experience within packaging industry is essential
- A track record of successfully managing, retaining and growing key customer accounts
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and develop new business opportunities
- Proactive in prospecting for new business and expanding existing accounts
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skill, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Results-driven, with a strong focus on achieving sales targets/delivering profitable growth
- Excellent negotiation, presentation and communication skills
- Highly organised, with excellent planning, prioritisation and problem-solving abilities
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team
- Full UK driving licence required, as regular travel to customer sites and external meetings is an essential part of the role
