JUNIOR STRUCTURAL DESIGNER - POS

SURREY / SOUTH LONDON

Salary: £27-35K DOE + Overtime (Paid at Time & Half) + Bonus + 20 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays (Increasing to 25 Days with Service) + Pension

Our client is a highly respected and well-established creative manufacturing business, delivering innovative retail display and point-of-sale solutions for many of the UK's leading brands and retailers. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Junior Structural Designer to join their friendly and supportive design team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Junior Designer with around 1-3 years' industry experience who is looking to develop their career within the POS and retail display sector. The successful candidate will receive ongoing training and mentoring, giving them the opportunity to build their technical knowledge and progress within an established business.

Working closely with the design, account management and production teams, you will assist in developing creative structural concepts and support projects from initial brief through to manufacture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design and development of cardboard POS displays including FSDUs, CDU's, dump bins, shelf-ready packaging, counter displays and other retail display solutions.
  • Produce structural CAD drawings and cutting forms using Kasemake.
  • Support the creation of practical, cost-effective designs that are suitable for manufacture.
  • Work alongside senior designers to develop creative structural concepts and refine designs.
  • Produce prototypes and samples, making amendments where required following testing and client feedback.
  • Liaise with Account Managers, Designers and Production to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.
  • Gain an understanding of materials, board grades and manufacturing processes to ensure commercially viable solutions.
  • Ensure designs meet retailer specifications and manufacturing requirements.
  • Manage your workload effectively while developing your technical and creative skills.
  • Requirements
  • Around 1-3 years' experience within a Structural Design, POS, Retail Display, Packaging or Interior Display environment.
  • Working knowledge of Kasemake is preferred.
  • Some experience designing corrugated or cardboard POS displays, retail interiors or related products.
  • A willingness to learn and develop within a supportive team.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Organised, enthusiastic and keen to build a long-term career within structural design.
