Our client is a privately owned BRC accredited carton manufacturer. They sell into a range of markets including finance, FMCG, manufacturing, communications, cosmetic, beauty, household, DIY and pet care markets.
They are currently looking to recruit for a senior position as Head of Sales. You will be responsible for leading the development and execution of strategic sales initiatives to drive revenue growth. This role requires a results driven leader with a proven track record in sales, preferably within the packaging or other related industries. They are looking for an individual with outstanding leadership skills, strategic mindset and the ability to work remotely while effectively managing a high-performing Sales Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with overall business goals
- Define target markets and customer segments to maximise growth opportunities
- Establish, track, and manage sales targets, KPIs, and performance measures
- Lead, coach, and motivate a remote Sales Team (1 direct report from August 2025) to consistently exceed targets
- Deliver onboarding, training, and continuous development for new Sales staff
- Cultivate a collaborative, high-performance sales culture
- Drive business development by identifying and securing new opportunities to grow the customer base
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activity through ongoing market research
- Leverage the Business Development team's support (2-3 qualified new business meetings per month with a 35% expected conversion rate)
- Following a 3-month onboarding and pipeline build:
- Year 1 - Achieve £750K in new sales (@35% GM, 57% VA)
- Year 2 - Achieve £1.25M in new sales (@35% GM, 57% VA)
- Year 3 - Achieve £2M in new sales (@35% GM, 57% VA)
- Manage the full sales pipeline, from lead generation through to closing deals
- Implement streamlined sales processes and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Partner with Marketing, Product Development, and Customer Service to deliver a seamless customer journey
- Produce accurate sales forecasts and regular performance reports for senior management
- Analyse sales data to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities
- Provide strategic recommendations to inform business decisions and future growth
Requirements:
- Established track record in a senior sales leadership role, such as Head of Sales
- Strong experience within the packaging sector or a closely related industry
- Proven skill to design & deliver sales strategies that generate significant revenue growth
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work alone while effectively managing a remote team
- Skilled in using CRM platforms and sales performance analytics tools
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
